Welcome to Bloomfield Elementary School!
It’s hard to believe we have already starting the Fall Semester. I am starting my second year as Principal of Bloomfield Elementary School and I am so excited to be part of all the great things the staff does for our students. I am impressed with the commitment that our staff shows toward the success of our student body. I am convinced we have some of the best teachers, who do more than just teach. They mentor and listen to our students so they can meet their needs. I am thankful to live in a community that rallies to the needs of their neighbors and helps them through the difficult circumstances they endure. Our teacher’s and staff use that same energy toward our students each and every day.
I am energized at the direction of our corporation and our elementary school as we push through our K-12 initiatives. We are diligently working to becoming a school that teaches our students to be problem solvers. We are active in Engineering in Elementary, we offer STEM classes, and we are moving into the world of Project Based Learning. Last Fall, we began our journey by partnering with Project Lead the Way and New Tech Project Based Learning initiatives. Our staff will continue to engage in Professional Development over the next couple of years to become facilitators as our students learn to implement problem-solving strategies.
We are also focusing on creating positive minded, productive citizens through our Character Traits Program. Our students are rewarded and commended for displaying positive character in how they treat others. These traits include: Respect, Integrity, Courage, Trustworthiness, Perseverance, Self-Discipline, Fairness, Responsibility, Caring, and Citizenship. Our goal is that every student build character that engulfs all of these traits and they treat others in a manner that represents the positive aspects of our great community.
